Our Story
Mumbai (Bombay) is a bustling Indian city home to hundreds of thousands of commuters and busy office workers. Due to the high price of downtown restaurant food, a courier system was invented to bring hot, home-cooked meals from rural areas into the city's core. The meals are prepared and stored in Tiffin tins, which are transported to the city by an army of Dabbawalla couriers everyday.

These diligent couriers rely on a virtually infallible system of graphic markings that identify the exact destination of each Tiffin. The Dabbawalla couriers carry thousands of Tiffins all over the city daily, so office workers can enjoy the quality and flavor of these home-cooked meals.

Veda's creation was inspired by this system of food delivery, along with the absence of any fast food Indian restaurant chain in North America. In this way, Veda has quickly become a leader in serving and delivering healthy and high quality food.
